Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan government installed in the east, Abdulhadi al-Huwaij, has discussed support mechanisms for displaced persons and voluntary return programmes with the director of the Libyan Relief Agency, Salem Bouzraida.
The meeting, held on Monday at the ministry’s headquarters in Benghazi, was devoted to several humanitarian issues, including the development of mechanisms aimed at ensuring the continuity of aid to displaced persons and foreign communities in need, in coordination with international organisations and in partnership with local actors, said a statement issued by the ministry.
The need to strengthen coordination between the ministry and the agency regarding the voluntary return programme for Sudanese refugees was also highlighted.
This meeting is part of the commitment of the eastern-based government to support humanitarian efforts and improve the situation of vulnerable groups by strengthening cooperation with various local and international partners.
