Army General Command annoiunces recapture of strategic town

Port Sudan, Sudan (PANA) -The Sudanese Armed Forces on Thursday said it had retaken a strategic town, Bara, an area in the vicinity of the desert road that links central Sudan to greater Kordufan and Darfur region.

A military communiqué said the SAF forces, alongside all components of the National Dignity War, had remained faithful to their pledge to exert every effort and make every sacrifice to defeat the RSF militia, its mercenaries and supporters.

“Today, we announce the entry of your forces into the city of Bara with force, determination and power, liberating it from the filth of the thugs,” the communiqué said.

The takeover of Bara came as surprise because it was believed to be one of the areas well-guarded by the RSF and only last week a shower of drones, believed to be coming from Bara, knocked down a couple of water and electricity service units in Khartoum.

It also came at a time the focus was on Al Fashir, Deleng and Kadugli.

“We assure our people that your forces, with all their components, are proceeding with determination and certainty on the path to victory, step by step, phase after phase, until our entire country is cleansed of the filth of the militias, mercenaries, and agents,” the army said.
