Ivorian PM undergoes coronary angiography test in France
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The Prime Minister of Cote d'Ivoire, Amadou Gon Coulibaly, who has been in France since Saturday for a medical check-up, said on Monday he had undergone a coronary angiography examination.
A coronary angiogram is a procedure that uses X-ray imaging to see the heart's blood vessels. The test is generally done to see if there's a restriction in blood flow going to the heart.
"Yesterday, Monday, May 4, 2020, I went through a coronary angiography examination, at the end of which my doctor prescribed me a medical follow-up and a rest period," the Ivorian head of government's Facebook page reads.
"I will, therefore, continue my stay in France for a few weeks before returning to Côte d'Ivoire," he added, thanking all those who have sent him messages from Côte d'Ivoire and around the world.
Since the Prime Minister's departure to France, his post is managed by Mr. Hamed Bakayoko, Minister of State for Defence.
Prime Minister Coulibaly is, moreover, the designated candidate of the ruling party for next October's presidential election.
