Ivorian Koné Tiemoko Meyliet appointed new BCEAO governor

Lomé, Togo (PANA) – Ivorian Koné Tiemoko Meyliet has been appointed governor of the central bank of West African States (BCEAO) at the extraordinary session of the conference of heads of State and government of the West African economic and monetary Union (UEMOA) held Monday in Lomé, local sources told PANA.

Meyliet will complete the term of another Ivorian, Dacoury-Tabley, who, after three years of duty, has been forced to resign following the post-electoral crisis that prevailed in Cote d'Ivoire.

The new BCEAO governor had previously been a member of the staff of Prime minister’s Guillaume Soro in the presidency of Laurent Gbagbo. He was three-time chairman of the West African financial institution.
