Intl. football legend Didier Drogba expected in Kigali for Youth Connekt Africa summit

Kigali, Rwanda (PANA)  -  Former international football star Didier Drogba is to attend Youth Connekt Africa summit next month in Kigali, organisers of the event

Youth Connekt is an annual platform designed to connect the youth for socio-economic transformation to provide a holistic solution to alleviate some challenges faced by African youth.

This year's event, which is slated from early October in Kigali, will attract mainly heads of state, global business leaders, development partners, youth-led organizations with incubators and innovation labs.

Drogba is currently acting as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Goodwill Ambassador on various initiatives which focus on poverty reduction, health and education.

Drogba is the former captain and all-time top scorer of the Côte d'Ivoire national football team. Born in Abidjan, Drogba spent his childhood in his native Côte d'Ivoire and his adopted country, France.
