Int'l community assures DRC President of support during his term as AU President

Kinshasa, DR Congo (PANA) - The ambassadors of the United States to the African Union (AU), Ms. Jessye Lapenn, the DR Congo, Mike Hammer, and the European Union (EU), Jean-Marc, have assured Congolese President, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, of the support of the international community during his term as President of the African Union (AU).

The US Ambassador to the AU, Lappen, speaking on behalf of the three diplomats after their meeting on Thursday in Kinshasa with the Congolese President that their visit was about supporting the leadership of the President of the African Union and the DRC in his diplomacy''.

She said discussions with the Congolese leader also focused on all current issues on the African continent and more specifically on the issue of the Great Dam of the Ethiopian Renaissance as well as the situation in Chad and Tigray.

PANA recalls that the issue of the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is at the center of discussions between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan under the mediation of the President of the AU.
