IGAD countries seek UN agencies support for drought resilience initiatives

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (PANA) – Ministers responsible for agriculture, livestock and arid lands in member nations of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Thursday called on UN agencies to support the bloc to establish a regional early warning system linked to mechanisms for early response to drought emergencies afflicting the region
