US willing to support peace, stability efforts in Africa

Brazzaville, Congo (PANA) - The United States Special Envoy, Peter Pham, announced Thursday in Brazzaville that his country was ready to support peace and stability efforts in Africa, following a meeting with the Congolese Head of State, Denis Sassou Nguesso, who is also the current president of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGEL).

"I wanted to start my first tour in the region through Brazzaville to meet with the Chairman of CIRGEL, in order to get an idea of his vision of the sub-region," said Peter Pharm, at the end of the meeting.

In addition to issues of peace and security in the sub-region, Denis Sassou Nguesso and Peter Pharm also discussed issues related to cooperation between Congo and the United States of America.
