MONUSCO's Director of Political Affairs acknowledged that the situation was extremely difficult on the ground in eastern DR Congo.

He said they had a working session with the President on MONUSCO's activities in support of and in collaboration with the armed forces (FARDC) in the ongoing operations in eastern DR Congo.
