UN chief condemns attack targeting convoy of Somali President Sheikh Mahamud

New York, US (PANA) - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned Tuesday’s attack in Somalia targeting a convoy of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud which resulted in casualties.  

A statement by Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, said the UN chief has expressed his condolences to the families of the bereaved and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

“The Secretary-General reaffirms the United Nations’ full solidarity and support to the people and Government of Somalia in their fight against terrorism and in furthering efforts towards peace and stability,” the statement said.
