U23 AFCON: Ivorian coach calls for reinforcement ahead of South Africa clash

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (PANA)  - Five players of the Ivorian U23 national football team, including captain Ibrahim Sangaré, held by their respective clubs in the first match of the Elephants against Nigeria 1-0, will feature in the second match against South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations U23 tournament in Egypt.

The match will be played on Tuesday at the Al Salam stadium of Cairo.

The captain of the Ivorian team could return to his club, Toulouse FC in the French football league, after the last match of the first round and therefore miss a possible semi-final, as his club does not want to release him for his country.

A victory for the Ivorians would qualify them for the semi-finals and the next Olympics Games.

During their first match against Nigeria, the Ivorian team presented 16 players instead of 21.
