Two injured as a missile hits Tripoli Medical Center

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Two people were injured on Saturday when a missile hit the rear portal of the Tripoli Medical Center, medical and military sources said.

The military operation, Volcano of Anger, affiliated to the Government of National Accord (GNA) announced on Saturday that "two people were injured by a missile that landed on the back door of the Tripoli Medical Center".

"A woman, Hala Salem Ali, 38, was seriously injured in the head and a member of the Protection of Vital Objects unit was injured by the fall of a missile," fired by forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the same source said.

For his part, Media Advisor to the Ministry of Health of the GNA, Amine Al-Hachemi, confirmed the information on the attack and the two injured people.

One year to the day after the attack on 4 April 2019 by Haftar's forces in Tripoli, tension is still at its peak in the city where missiles and shells rain almost daily on residential areas, killing and injuring civilians as the coronavirus pandemic spreads. So far 17 cases of infection, including one death, have been registered.
