Tunisian troops join UN peace mission in Central African Republic

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Tunisian President Kais Saied, on Thursday presided over the departure ceremony of the Tunisian light rapid air response group for Bangui, as part of the United Nations Integrated Mission for the stabilization of the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saied affirmed that Tunisia believes in peace and security inside and outside the country, and that the Tunisian participation in this mission has a lot of significance and consideration, recalling that Tunisian forces had already taken part in several UN missions around the world.

He instructed members of the departing group to lead this new UN mission with the same spirit of professionalism known among the Tunisian armed forces.
