Tunisian president and Prime Minister discuss Libyan crisis

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - The political and security situation in Libya was at the centre of a meeting on Thursday between Tunisian President Kais Saied and his Prime Minister, Elyes Fakhfakh, a statement from the Tunisian Presidency said.

On the same day, the Tunisian Ministry of Defence announced that the Tunisian army had raised its alert level and preventive vigilance to all suspicious movements on the Tunisia-Libya border, adding that this measure was being taken in collaboration with the gendarmerie and security forces.

The army's decision to put itself on alert is part of monitoring the security situation of areas close to Tunisia's land and sea borders, so that the country is prepared for any eventuality, the statement said.
