Tunisian police stop armed French diplomats at border post

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - More than ten French diplomats from Libya were stopped on Sunday at Ras Jadir border crossing by Tunisian border police, a Tunisian security source said.

The diplomats, travelling on board several vehicles with diplomatic licence plates, were stopped after refusing to surrender their weapons to the Tunisian police, the source said.

Without giving further details, the source said that the diplomats were at the border from 10am till late evening on Sunday.
