Tunisian, Italian foreign ministers discuss Libyan situation

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Tunisian and Italian Foreign Ministers, Noureddine Erray and Luigi Di Maio respectively, on Saturday had a telephone conversation on latest developments in the situation in Libya

According to a statement by issued the Tunisian Foreign ministry, the two ministers expressed the need to find a consensual political solution to the Libyan crisis.

The Tunisian National Security Council, meeting on Thursday under the chairmanship of President Kais Saied, had insisted on "Tunisia's rejection of any project aimed at dividing Libya, whatever its form and nature".

The two ministers also discussed the "strong" ties of friendship and cooperation between their two countries and the desire to strengthen them in all areas, the statement added.

They also discussed the efforts of their respective countries to limit the health and economic consequences of the spread of the new coronavirus (Covid-19).
