Tunisian President, Algerian FM discuss Libyan crisis

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Tunisian President Kais Saeid on Monday received the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, who was carrying a message from the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to his Tunisian counterpart.

At the meeting, the officials discussed the situation in the region, especially the Libyan crisis, and reaffirmed the importance of continuing coordination at all levels between Tunisia and Algeria, to help the Libyans to overcome their difficulties, including a ceasefire and the return to the negotiating table, said the official website of the Tunisian Presidency.

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs said he was satisfied with the views expressed between the two countries with regard to the Libyan crisis and their determination to work together to overcome the current deadlock, by considering the situation in Libya as a question of national security for Tunisia and Algeria, whose contributions to resolving the Libyan crisis are sparked by common destiny and good neighborliness.

The meeting between the Tunisian President and the Algerian Minister for Foreign Affairs was also an opportunity to examine ways to strengthen the "excellent relations" which bind Tunisia and Algeria together and which awaits a new push during the State visit that will soon be made by the Algerian President to Tunisia.
