Tunisia submits ratification of AU convention on fighting corruption

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Acting Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji has submitted the instruments of ratification of the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption to  AU legal counsel Nemira Najm.


Bachtobji met with the AU legal counsel on the sidelines of the 33rd AU ordinary summit currently being held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

 

He stressed the importance Tunisia attaches to this convention and its commitment to implement its provisions, said a press release issued by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Tunisia’s accession to the convention illustrates the country's desire to strengthen cooperation with the AU and African countries in all areas, including the fight against corruption, said Bachtobji.


Ms. Najm congratulated Tunisia on the ratification of the convention, expressing a readiness to cooperate fully with the Tunisian government in order to apply its provisions.
