Tunisia participates in international monitoring committee of Berlin conference on Libya

Tunis Tunisia (PANA) – The Tunisian deputy Secretary of State for foreign affairs, Sabri Bachtobji, on Sunday took part in the German city of Munich in the meeting of the international committee for the monitoring of the decisions from the Berlin conference on Libya.

It was to examine the international and regional approaches aimed at achieving a ceasefire and launch the political process under the aegis of the United Nations.

According to the communiqué issued by the Tunisian ministry of foreign affairs, Mr Bachtobji called on countries participating in the meeting and the international community to coordinate their efforts to back the political process for a solution as agreed in Berlin and to conform to a political solution to the crisis.

He reaffirmed Tunisia’s desire to integrate all the working teams to be established for the monitoring of the Berlin process which will bring together all the political, economic, security and humanitarian paths.

Tunisia refused to take part in the Berlin conference on Libya held on 19 January because the invitation came "late".
