Tunisia extends the state of emergency until Dec 25

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Tunisian President Kaïs Saied, has extended the state of emergency for one month throughout the country, under a decree published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Tunisia (JORT).

The decree, which grants the authorities exceptional powers, including the prohibition of unauthorized gatherings and control of the press, will be in effect from November 26 to December 25, 2020.

The state of emergency has been steadily extended since the November 2015 attack on a presidential guard bus.

The terrorist organization, Daesh, claimed responsibility for the attack in which 12 members of the elite corps, died.
