Tunisia: African women leaders network to be launched in June

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) – Altogether, 40 African active women leaders in different walks of life (civil society, Parliament, information and technology) on Thursday took part in Tunis in a pre-launching meeting of the African-Tunisia women leaders network, on the initiative of the United Nations entity for gender equality and women empowerment, the African Union and the African women leaders network.

Participants in the meeting decided to launch the network in June in Tunis which will be the 7th of its kind after the establishment of similar networks in other African countries, including Congo, Seychelles and Morocco.

The network aims to strengthen communication and sharing of successful experience between women leaders in Africa, particularly in the domains of sustainable development, peace and stability, in accordance with the goals of the 2030 UN Agenda and the 2063 Agenda for sustainable development.

A strategy will be elaborated soon to define the components of the network, its programme and working method, sources close to organizers said.
