Tunis prepares to host 30th Arab Countries Summit set for 31 March

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Between 5,000 and 6,000 guests are expected in Tunis to attend the Arab Countries Summit, scheduled for March 31, Tunisian local affairs and environment minister Mokhtar Hammami has announced.

He was speaking on Saturday about  preparations for the Tunisian capital to welcome the Summit participants whose experts and ministers meetings are scheduled from 26 to 31 March.

Issues related to terrorism, Palestine, the situation in Libya, Yemen and Syria will be central to discussions between Arab leaders, observers in Tunisia said.

This edition of the Summit takes place at the time when the Arab world faces crises among Arab countries, while States' positions are opposed on several issues. It is taking place at a time when the people of this region give little interest to meetings of the League of Arab States that have shown their incompetence for decades, some  observers added.

King Salman Ben Abdelaziz of Saudi Arabia will visit Tunisia two days before the Summit, media sources reported.

The Saudi King will be accompanied by a large delegation of about 1,000 persons, including a large press team.

It will be the third visit that the King of Saudi Arabia carries out in Tunisia since the country's independence in 1956.
