Third world summit of "Women in Africa" to be held in June in Morocco

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA)   -   The third edition of the world summit of ‘Women in Africa Initiative (WIA)’, an international platform for economic development and women and high potential leaders accompaniment, will be held on 27-28 June in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, a communiqué issued and reaching PANA said here on Friday.

It will be held under the theme "How African Leaders Engage the World and Create New Paradigm".

The key activities of the summit will focus on a training workshop that will be attended by 54 entrepreneur women selected within the framework of the project WIA 54, launched by the Foundation WIA Philanthropy to encourage female entrepreneurship.

Seven women will be honoured for their distinguished projects based on seven themes: agriculture, digital, education, fintech, health, environment and social innovation.

The second important activity will be the awarding of the Prize for the African agricultural woman of the year initiated by WIA and Morocco Phosphates Office (OCP) to African women engaged in agriculture in Africa.

The prize aims to acknowledge the winner in her sector on the continent and internationally, so as to introduce the good practice at the local and regional levels.

The summit, being sponsored by King Mohamed VI, will bring together 500 persons from 75 countries.

They comprise especially economic leaders, government officials and delegations of women originally from the Middle-East, the USA, Asia, in addition o women and men from the 54 African countries.
