Sudan Prime Minister leaves for Ethiopia

Khartoum, Sudan (PANA) - The Sudanese Prime Minister, Dr Abdullah Hamdouk, left Khartoum on Thursday for Addis Ababa for a meeting with his Ethiopian counterpart, Dr Abei Ahmed, on bilateral relations.

He will also take part in the celebrations marking Ethiopians' Nationalities Day.

The visit, which comes at the invitation of the Ethiopian premier, is also aimed to coordinate on issues of mutual interest and seek ways to further boost bilateral relations, the official media in Khartoum said.

Hamdouk is accompanied by a high level delegation including the foreign minister, the minister for defence, the minister for industry, the minister for trade as well as the head of national security.

Ethiopia and the African Union have been key players in mediating a soft landing between the military and civilian elements after the revolution that ousted Sudanese president Omar Bashir. This has paved the way for a transitional period of three years and which is led by civil cabinet headed by Hamdouk.
