South Africa's national carrier announces flight changes

Cape Town, South Africa (PANA) – South African Airways has announced that it will stop flying to Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, from 1 December due to low demand.

The airline has also lowered its projections for Lusaka, Zambia, reducing its weekly flights to five from seven.

The national carrier resumed operations in September after being grounded for almost 18 months because of the COVID-19 pandemic and serious financial losses.

It has also announced plans to resume flying directly to Lagos from 12 December. In addition, it resumes its flights to Mauritius this week, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Other changes to SAA’s schedule include introducing return flights to Accra, Ghana.
