Some 300 Tunisians stranded in Libya return home

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Some 300 Tunisians stranded in Libya returned to their country on Wednesday evening after repairs to the Libyan Customs foreign control system, which was behind the delay in their repatriation, the governor of the Medénine region, Habib Chouaat, announced.

The repatriation of the Tunisians was scheduled for 1 May, said the governor, who visited the Ras Jadir border crossing to oversee the return of his countrymen.

All logistical and humane measures have been taken to welcome the returnees and transfer them to a hotel where they will be subjected to sanitary quarantine, the governor added.

Nearly 4,200 Tunisians have recently returned from Libya in groups, the first of whom has already ended the period of health quarantine in this southern city.
