Some 3 million children vaccinated against measles, rubella in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - A total of 3,254,425 Burkinabé children, between the ages of 9 and 59 months, were vaccinated during a campaign against measles and rubella from 22 to 28 November, 2019, the government indicated on Wednesday evening in a report of the Council of Ministers.

The aim of the campaign, according to the government, was to vaccinate 3,078,334 children across the country. But at the end of the campaign, 3,254,425 children were vaccinated.

"This action reflects Burkina Faso's international commitments and desire to strengthen vaccine coverage with all vaccines protecting women of reproductive age, newborns and children," stressed the government.

The Council commended the various players who contributed to the achievement of these results, the report said.
