Soldier, two assailants killed in north-central Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - A Burkinabe soldier was killed and two assailants shot dead on Tuesday evening when a military patrol was ambushed near Loada, about 10 km from Dablo in the north-central region, security sources told PANA on Wednesday.

A response from the security forces resulted in the recovery of two motorcycles belonging to the attackers.

Burkina Faso has been facing an upsurge in terrorist attacks for more than three years, which have so far killed more than 500 people and displaced 280,000 internally in the midst of a humanitarian crisis.
