Socialist Women's Summit opens Tuesday in Niamey

Niamey, Niger (PANA) - Niger's President Mahamadou Issoufou on Monday received the Secretary General of the Socialist International, Luis Ayala, in Niger for the summit of socialist women of Africa which will open in Niamey on Tuesday, October 29, reports the Nigerien Press Agency (ANP).

"I had the chance to meet President Mahamadou Issoufou for a few years. We worked together in the socialist international. President Issoufou is a good example of a man who represents good governance. We are very proud of his work, his commitment and the result of his government," Luis Ayala told reporters after his audience.

He went on to say that '' President Issoufou very concretely represents the values, the ideals ''of the socialist movement of 160 political parties before announcing all the support of the Socialist International to the President of the Republic of Niger.

"I am convinced that his good example, the results of his management will assist the country for years. I am very optimistic for the future of Niger," concluded Ayala.

The meeting of the Socialist International of Women (ISF) in Niamey focuses on women's political participation, conflict management and land management.

The Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism (PNDS), the ruling party in Niger, is a member of the international organization of socialist and social democratic parties.
