Senegalese President Sall urges compatriots to vote in peace on Sunday
Dakar, Senegal (PANA) - Senegalese president Macky Sall on Wednesday urged his compatriots to vote Sunday in peace, reports the Senegalese Press Agency (APS).
It cited an official statement as saying during a meeting of the Council of Ministers: "The President of the Republic has asked political actors and citizens to preserve our democratic gains by going to vote on March 24, 2024, in calm and serenity."
The President congratulated the government, the defence and security forces and the administration as a whole for all the measures taken to ensure a good organisation of the election in Senegal and abroad.
Macky Sall also praised “the smooth running of the electoral campaign in peace and respect for the rule of law in order to reinforce the influence of Senegalese democracy and the solidity of our institutions”.
