RwandAir inaugurates flights to Tel Aviv

Kigali, Rwanda (PANA) - Rwanda's national carrier, RwandAir, inaugurated its flights on Monday to Tel Aviv, Israel, the airline said in a statement made available on Tuesday to PANA in Kigali.

The airline is operating this non-stop flight with a Boeing 737-800NG.

It will fly three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) to Tel Aviv, according to the airline's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Yvonne Manzi Makolo.

In addition, RwandAir plans to launch one more destination to New York City, USA, to bring the number of destinations to 31, the organisation indicated.

Earlier this month, RwandAir launched flights to the Chinese commercial hub of Guangzhou.

With Kigali as its hub, RwandAir currently flies to destinations in West, East and Southern Africa, the Middle East, Mumbai (India) and Europe.

The airline, which has 12 planes, plans to increase its fleet to about 20 in the next two years.

The airline has grown from a virtual carrier, leasing its entire fleet, to operating its own, which now consists of two B737-700s, two B737-800s, two CRJ-900s, two Bombardier Q-400s, two A330-200 and two A330-300.
