Protesting civil aviation agents paralyze flights in Tripoli

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Flight operations at the Maitigua airport, eastern Tripoli, the Libyan capital, have been paralyzed following a protest by agents of the Libyan civil aviation, including air traffic controllers, who are requesting the regularisation of their appointments.

Most of the airlines have stopped their flights to and from Maitigua airport following the protests, the management of the airport announced on Monday.

"The sit-in has resulted in the stoppage of the issuance of licences to pilots, stewardesses and licences to airlines to land for occasional and general maintenance," the management of the airport said on its Facebook page.

The management of the airport therefore called for a quick resolution of the matter so that the protest does continue to affect passengers, including sick people, old people and children.
