Protesters of Mali's regime hand over a document on crisis recovery proposals

Bamako, Mali (PANA) -  The 5 June movement-Rally of Patriotic Forces (M5-RFP) published on Wednesday a crisis recovery document that will be submitted to Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar, whose regime is challenged.

Among proposals in the document, the M5-RFP calls for dissolution of the National Assembly, establishment of a legislative body, total change of the nine members of the Constitutional Court, four of whom have already resigned, and the appointment of a prime minister with full powers, named by the movement and who will be the sole authority to make appointments in the spheres of the State.

The resignation of the President of the Republic, or anything demanded by the movement during the marches of 5 and 19 June, no longer seem to be the approach of the M5-RFP.

Its demand is relegated to the background, following numerous mediations by the international community, religious leaders,  and other goodwill important persons of the country.

Mali's proposal document for exiting the sociopolitical crisis was drawn up by a strategic committee, set up by experienced M5-RFP executives, it saids.

According to a source close to the movement, the President of the Republic will have a few days to implement these proposals, if not, the M5-RFP promises to return to its main objective which is the resignation of the head of state and his entire regime.

According to a leader of the movement, if President Keita does not respond favourably to their proposals for an exit from the crisis, they reserve the right to resume demonstrations and move towards civil disobedience until their demands are met.

It is recalled that on June 5 and 19, thousands of Malians gathered on the Independence Boulevard in central Bamako, at the call of the M5-RFP to demand the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Kéita, and his regime, accused of "poor governance" and "poor management" of multiple crises -- security, institutional, economic and social in Mali.
