President of Burkina Faso praises work of the public media

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The president of Burkina Faso's transitional government, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Friday praised the work of the country's public media.

He paid an unannounced visit early on Friday morning to the Burkina Broadcasting Corporation (RTB), where the heads of the public media were present, according to the communications department of the Burkina Faso presidency.

The head of state congratulated the public media on their daily work and initiatives to support the implementation of the Transition's missions.

Captain Traoré praised the staff of Editions Sidwaya and Radiodiffusion Télévision du Burkina for their "remarkable work".

"Since the beginning of this situation, we have seen the constancy of Editions Sidwaya and RTB. Despite limited resources, you are doing an outstanding job. This is the right place for me to come and encourage and congratulate you," said the president of the Transition, who invited all the media to work towards galvanizing the fighting forces resolutely engaged in the various theatres of operations.

He pointed out that other media had also joined the movement to support the Transition and the Defence and Security Forces.

He expressed his satisfaction and reiterated the government's support for all the media.

"Anxious to improve the working conditions of journalists, the head of state handed over working equipment worth more than 130 million CFA francs, consisting mainly of editing tables, cameras, sound recording and processing equipment, computers and printers," the Presidency stated.
