President Ghazouani promises measures to end death on Mauritanian roads

Nouakchott, Mauritania (PANA) - Mauritanian President Mohamed ould Cheikh Ghazouani said here Wednesday all measures would be taken to ensure road safety.

This was contained in a message of condolences he delivered to victims of a serious road accident that resulted in the death of 12 persons.

He accident occurred following a collision between a public transport bus which left Nouakchott and a big truck from Nouadhibou.

In his message of condolences, the Mauritanian president said he “learnt with sadness the news about the road accident that occurred on the Nouakchott-Nouadhibou road, which caused the death of a large number of our compatriots and wounded several others.

“In this sad circumstance, the presidency of the Republic offers its condolences and feeling of compassion to the families and relatives of the victims, imploring God the Almighty to cover them with His mercy and to receive them in His Holy paradise, while giving their families courage and patience.

“The president of the Republic expresses also his wishes of early recovery, just like he engages to the citizens that all measures and dispositions are taken by the concerned departments to guarantee road security and limit the number of road accidents,” the statement said.
