President Alpha Condé "seriously affected'' by death of Ivorian PM

Conakry, Guinea (PANA) - Guinean President Alpha Condé Wednesday sent a message of condolence to his Ivorian counterpart, Alassane Ouattara, following the death of his Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly in the economic capital, Abidjan, the state-run television reported.

President Condé, who said he was ‘strongly affected’ hailed the memory of a ‘distinguished son’ and ’loyal servitor’ of his country who, according to him, fulfilled in all loyalty his mission until his death.

President Condé reassured his Ivorian counterpart of his everlasting support, as well as the family of the dead and the Ivorian people in this painful period which the country was going through.

Candidate for the next presidential election of the Rally of Houphouetists for democracy and peace (RHDP), the head of the Ivorian government, who recently made a health visit to France, lost consciousness during the council of ministers before his evacuation in a health center where his death was reported.

Coulibaly, who underwent a heart transplant in 2012, had returned to his country on Thursday after two months in France for medical control.
