One soldier killed in an explosive device attack in northern Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - A Burkinabe soldier was killed and three others wounded on Thursday in an explosive device attack on the Djibo-Bourzanga axis in northern Burkina Faso, the Directorate of Communication and Public Relations of the Army announced on Friday.


The attack took place while the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMGA) Brigadier General Moïse Miningou, was with the group of forces for the security of the North, according to the statement of the Army.


"Travelling with several military detachments in the area of ​​operation, he was able to meet the men and women who were on the frontline of the fight against terrorism, giving them advice, encouragement, and the actions of the command to improve the conditions of operational commitment, "the statement said.


"Comforted by this visit, soldiers of the various detachments visited, during the exchanges with the CEMGA, reaffirmed their firm determination to accomplish their mission despite the difficulties inherent in this type of commitment," it added.


In each location visited, the Chief of the Armed Forces met with the local authorities to solicit their commitment alongside the National Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
