One soldier, 13 terrorists killed December 15 in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - A  Burkinabe soldier and 13 terrorists were killed in an ambush against a Burkinabe Army unit in Mansila, Yagha province in the Sahel, the Army announced on Wednesday in a note reviewing operations from December 14 to 20.

"On the friendly side, a soldier was killed. Four wounded soldiers were evacuated and taken care of. On the enemy side, 13 assailants were neutralised; a vehicle, weapons, ammunition and equipment that can be used to make improvised explosive devices were recovered," said the Burkinabe Army.

From December 14 to 20, the Army carried out 14 air operations, 32 operations to secure markets and places of worship and 312 patrols and escorts.

For more than five years, several regions of Burkina Faso have been regular targets of terrorist attacks.
