Niger launches 3 websites to improve security communication

Niamey, Niger (PANA) - In a bid to facilitate security communication, both internally and to citizens, Niger's National Police, National Gendarmerie and the National Guard now each have their own website.

The opening of digital portals for internal security is part of the national e-government strategy implemented by the National Agency for the Information Society (ANSI).

The three platforms were developed with the support of the EUCAP Sahel Niger mission.

Deputy Minister responsible for Public Security, Alkache Alhada, inaugurated the websites.

"We need to communicate to boost the morale of our elements, reassure the population and ask for their collaboration," he said.

For some time, the internal security forces of Niger have engaged in a dynamic of communication, like the National Police which, since 2011 created an information and public relations service.

"To communicate, it is necessary not only to have qualified personnel but also appropriate channels, especially in the current context marked by the appearance of a new type of communication channels (digital) and an asymmetric war where the enemy is invisible," said Alkash.
