Morocco reiterates support for Libya to overcome crisis

Rabat, Morocco (PANA) - The President of the Moroccan Chamber of Councillors, the second chamber of Parliament, Hakim Benchamach, reiterated, on Thursday, the firm position of Morocco on supporting Libyans to the crisis in the country.

According to a statement of the Chamber, Mr. Benchamach was speaking during his meeting with the President of the Libyan High Council of State, Khaled Al Mechri and the delegation he led.

He reaffirmed Morocco's readiness to support Libyans and to accompany them to overcome the delicate transition stage they are going through.

This is so that they can achieve their aspirations in the construction of a democratic and unified state, preserving the national sovereignty of the country and its territorial integrity.

For his part, Mr. Al Mechri stressed the importance of the role played by Morocco in supporting the Libyan dialogue, under the supervision of the United Nations.

Both parties affirmed the readiness of the two institutions to launch a dynamic of institutional cooperation at all levels and in all areas of common parliamentary interest, the statement added.
