Mauritius called on Israel, Palestine to end violence

Port-Louis, Mauritius (PANA) – Mauritius on Thursday expressed concern about the escalation of violence between Israel and Palestine, which has led to scores of casualties through bombardments and launch of rockets.

In a communique issued in Port-Louis, the Mauritian Foreign Affairs Ministry called on both parties to exercise maximum restraint and to urgently put an end to the violence and civilian casualties.

“Mauritius supports the two-State solution, with Israel and Palestine, existing side by side," the communique said, and called for renewed international efforts to find a just and lasting solution to the long-standing conflict in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
