Mauritanian media highlight preliminary investigation into former president's rule

Nouakchott, Mauritania (PANA) - The Mauritania media this week highlighted the latest developments on the decade of governance of former President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz (2008-2019) following a report prepared by a Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CEP).

This document of several hundred pages reveals multiple cases of bad governance in the fields of energy, infrastructure, fishing, mining and land management, among others.

Al Akhbar newsaper announced "new seizures of vehicles", which were parked in a compound on Akjoujt road at the northern suburb of Nouakchott.

It said 56 new German trucks belonging to Mohamed Ould MSabou, an businessman and son-in-law of the former president were seized.

In the same vein, the Zahraa newspaper reported that five boats belonging to another businessman, Mohamed Ould Bowba, have been seized following an order issued by a court in Nouadhibou in the north.
