Mauritanian President meets head of UN peace mission in Mali

Nouakchott, Mauritania (PANA) - Mauritanian President Mohamed ould Cheikh El Ghazouani on Monday discussed recent developments in Mali with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General and head of the peace mission in Mali, Mohamed Saleh Nadhif.

The Mauritanian Information Agency reported that the UN regional official who called on the President briefed him on the security situation and developments in the implementation of the peace agreement in Mali.

"Mauritania and Mali are neighbours with several subjects of common interest," he said. 

"We have also received his encouragement and advice with a view to achieving real peace and consolidating Mali's stability," Nadhif added.
