Malian President to attend 33rd Summit of AU Heads of State

Bamako, Mali (PANA) - Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta will participate in the 33rd Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from February 9 to 10, it was officially announced here on Friday.

The Summit will be held under the theme, 'Silencing Guns, creating conditions conducive to the development of Africa'.

African leaders attending the summit will address armed conflicts that have bloodied the continent for years and development issues.

The summit will also be marked by the handover of the AU Chairmanship by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi to his successor, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
