Libyan newspaper stresses importance of training, warns against lures in the field

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The development of human resources remains a pressing issue in Libyan institutions that face major challenges in promoting the skills of their staff by acquiring the necessary techniques to keep up with the accelerated pace of the information and communication technology revolution, the Libyan newspaper "Alsabaah" has noted.

It said that due to this reality, there is a real risk of falling into the pitfalls of training by going to the wrong place.

Under the title: "Far from training shops", the newspaper "Alsabaah", published in the capital, Tripoli, indicated that "the old systems related to professions are no longer able to absorb the tremendous development in all fields".

Therefore, "continuous and organized training has become an urgent necessity to enable the human element to keep pace with this flow in the abundance of means, tools and information".

The newspaper, however, called for caution about the problems of training, which are numerous, especially "with those shops that spread both at home and abroad" and the reluctance of 'the old' to train because of fears that they have reached the apex of knowledge.

The author of the article cited an experience he witnessed first hand when "an institution sent a selected group of its employees on a training course in an Arab country for a period of seven days.

The envoys came back the same way they left, saying that they did not learn anything during their course.

The paper argued that any institution seeking excellence and progress should set up a think-tank, that is, a laboratory of ideas that includes a group of experts to develop strategies and training programmes, produce the necessary studies and present effective and locally applicable proposals with the aim of developing and strengthening capacities and knowledge.

It warned against the use of illusionary marketing shops, both locally and abroad, which are in fact corrupted to loot public money.
