Libyan interior minister denounces external interference in Libyan affairs

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Interior Minister of the Government of  National Accord, Fathi Bachagha, has denounced external interference in Libyan affairs during a meeting on Monday in Rabat, Morocco, with the Moroccan Minister for Foreign Affairs and International cooperation, Nasser Bourita, an official Libyan communiqué issued on Tuesday said.

The meeting focused on the Libyan security situation and its impact on the internal and external stability process, stated the communiqué of the information office of the Libyan Interior Ministry.

"The security situation in Libya has begun to improve significantly and there is a state of stability," said Mr. Bachagha.

According to the communiqué, the Libyan minister stressed that "Libyans should move away from foreign agendas", believing that they are capable of organising without external interference.

"The problem is foreign interference in Libyan affairs. We talk to all Libyans because it helps to remedy the internal divide," he added.

For his part, the Moroccan foreign Minister reiterated that the attention given to the security component created favourable conditions to stability in Libya, explaining that if we leave Libyans alone, it will end several problems impeding the state's building process.

He stressed that, at the political level, Morocco fully supports and is firmly committed to the stability of Libya, adding that this political support must be shown in practical programmes.

External interventions constitute the enemy and the main problem to  Libya's stability, added the head of Moroccan diplomacy.

Libya has been confronted for several years with a profound political and security crisis, accompanied by the insecurity fuelled by the proliferation of weapons and the interference of international and regional powers, which support various camps.
