Libyan Interior minister, UN Coordinator meet on political process

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan minister of Interior of the Government of National Accord, Fathi Bachagha, Sunday held talks with the deputy secretary-general and coordinator of the UN Support Mission in Libya, (UNSMIL), Raisedon Zenenga, on the methods and means for the success of the ongoing political process in Libya that should result in the national elections for 24 December.

Bahagha and Zenenga reviewed the security situation in the western region in general and Tripoli, in particular, and discussed a certain number of common issues between the Interior ministry and the UN Support Mission in Libya, according to a statement issued by the Libyan Interior ministry.

Bachagha expressed the hope that the House of Representatives (Parliament) would give the national unity government its confidence in the next days to come, expressing his satisfaction with the selection of the members of the national unity government and a new presidential council.

He also stressed the support of the Interior ministry for all results from the political process to ensure security for the country.
