Libyan Vice president visits Sudan

Khartoum, Sudan (PANA)- The Vice-President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Moussa Al-Koni, arrived in Khartoum on Tuesday, leading a high-level official delegation on a three-day state visit to the Sudan.

The Libyan Vice-President was received on arrival at Khartoum Airport by a Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC), Dr. Sidiq Tawir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, Interior Minister, Gen. Izz-Eddin Al-Sheikh, Secretary General of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lt.-Gen. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali and other senior officials.

The Libyan official later reviewed “coordination and cooperation between the Sudan and Libya in all domains that would reinforce stability in the two countries,” the official media reported, saying that the meeting was between Al-Koni and a Sudanese senior official in the Sovereign Council, Lt.Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo

Daglo was quoted as expressing pleasure that all Libyan sides are agreed to work together to achieve national reconciliation in their country.

He was also quoted as saying that the role of the Sudanese-Libyan joint force has to be revitalized so that they would secure the border areas and also curb illegal migration.

A Foreign Ministry Spokesman in the Sudan has meanwhile said Sudan has received an invitation from the Libyan government to attend the meeting of the Defense Ministers of the countries neighboring Libya that would be hosted by Morocco next month. Sudan has accepted the invitation.

The two sides, the official news agency, SUNA, reported, are agreed to form a joint force that would fight illegal migration and human trafficking in the region.
