Libyan Presidential Council meets LPDF members

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) –  Members of the Libyan Presidential Council on Tuesday discussed their tasks and duties with several members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF).

The Presidential Council of the Government of National Unity (GNU) -- Mohamed Al-Manfi (chairman), and the two vice-chairmen, Abdallah Al-Lafi and Moussa Al-Kouni -- held a meeting in Tripoli with the LPDF with their discussions focusing on important issues concerning the transition, according to a communiqué issued by the Council.

The members of the dialogue committee reaffirmed their "full support" for the Presidential Council to move forward to the achievement of the agenda, according to the statement.

In early February, the members of the LPDF elected the unified interim Executive Authority -- members of the Presidential Council as well as Mr. Abdelhamid Al-Dbaiba as Prime Minister of the GNU.

The Presidential Council plays the role of representative of the Libyan government abroad having under its responsibility the army and foreign policy in coordination with the Prime Minister.

The Government is in charge of the management of the country’s affairs and its economic, financial and social policy.
