Libyan Foreign Ministry delegation attends 41st AU Executive Council in Lusaka

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation and Organisations, Omar Ketti, is leading Libya's delegation to the 41st Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), which began on Thursday, in the Zambian capital, Lusaka.

The meeting is discussing many reports and files at the regional and international levels, including the adoption of the budget of the AU for the year 2023 and the selection of African candidates in international organisations, said a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.

The follow-up of the structural reform process of the AU, the 10-year implementation plan of the Agenda 2063 for sustainable development, and the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the war in Ukraine on food security on the African continent, are also being discussed.

The Executive Council meeting will also be followed by the fourth biannual coordination meeting of the AU and regional economic groupings and mechanisms on 17 July.

The chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, will participate in this meeting.
